Last Spring the mall management at North York Sheridan Mall offered the Black Creek Community Capacity Building Project the use of a storefront location in an empty store on the lower level of the mall just near the Food Court. Some of us were pretty excited about the possibility of being able to showcase the work of the Black Creek Project and to engage residents in conversations about Black Creek and the dreams and ideas that residents have to enhance the quality of life.

Thanks to the work of a York Student working with Toronto Arts Council Foundation for setting up a great blog to record the development of a future arts hub or two or three in Black Creek.  Maybe a centre for visual arts, one for dance and drama, one for writers and another for music practice and production etc…..  All these centres of creativity can support the talents of younger residents and build a creative economy in Black Creek.
